LOST HORIZON US souvenir program, 1937, from the #MBCarchive.
This spring, we’re celebrating Micky Wolfson by screening our founder’s favorite flicks in collaboration with the Wolfsonian-FIU. First up is Frank Capra’s 1937 sci-fi romance Lost Horizon, starring Ronald Colman and Jane Wyatt. Famously introducing the mystical land of Shangri-La, this Depression-era fantasy adventure sets the stage with the crash landing of a hijacked plane in the Himalayas, where the survivors find an enchanting “utopia” they grow to love . . . and then fear.
Before boarding, start your journey with a 3:30pm Wolfsonian tour of A Universe of Things, our new exhibition on Micky’s collecting legacy, followed by the 4:30pm movie at O Cinema South Beach.
